Atom is a Sustainable Responsible Investment Manager (SRI).

Atom believes that companies who focus on returns to shareholders as well as the responsibilities of corporate citizenship in a globalised world, will be more successful than those that don't.

As part of all company analysis Atom attempts to identify SRI issues that are of concern. If these are significant, Atom will not invest.  Atom will not invest in:

• Armaments sale and manufacture
• Asbestos
• Child labour
• Gambling
• Companies causing reckless damage to the environment
• Tobacco

Atom is a proponent of nuclear energy as it considers that nuclear energy offers the only presently viable means of large scale electricity generation without the harmful emission of greenhouse gases. This stance does not mitigate the need for companies to ensure adequate safety and environmental processes exist throughout all stages of the nuclear fuel cycle.

We will invest in mining, coal and oil companies as we consider metal, mineral and hydrocarbon commodities to be vital to the health of the economies (and thus inhabitants) of this planet - however we expect these companies to minimise their environmental "footprint".

Where possible we attempt to quantify SRI issues in company modeling. Our risk analysis does allow us to focus on the affect of a company event involving a potential SRI issue and the possible impact to the share price.

Atom will continuously monitor existing investments for potential SRI issues and if they are of sufficient concern Atom will engage with company management and/or the investment will be exited.
